We currently have an opening of up to 3 months for an internship (remote) within our News Department. To be considered for this position you must be at least be pursing an undergraduate / masters in journalism or related discipline and be available to commence the internship for 3 months from hire.

Position Description:

The ideal intern should be able to write compelling and professional scripts and news reports following AP style guidelines, as well as be skilled at performing basic audio & video editing, along with making podcasts. The intern should also have a basic understanding of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.  

The internship is entirely virtual.

The  marketing team collaborates with teammates, stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop strategies and tactics that bring business priorities and technical topics to life. The successful candidate will be part of a high energy team.

This internship will give you the opportunity to deepen your journalism  knowledge and sharpen your analytic  thinking, hone your influencing skills, enrich your communication capabilities, and grow your network. You are required to work remotely for 20 hours per week.

In this role you:

• Must be able to communicate clearly on camera

• May act as a reporter/ talk show host

• Will write scripts for broadcast news programming

• Will write news stories for the Ovis website

• Will gather regional news stories and content

• Will publish affiliate links on Ovis site

• Will use social media to promote content and service

Qualifications:

• Pursing at least an undergraduate / masters in journalism or related discipline

• Excellent English writing abilities

• A constant learner with acumen and understanding of trends

• Confident, self-starter with a good understanding of what makes a good story

• Multi-channel experience with knowledge of evolving and emerging platforms

• Strong verbal communications: experience navigating complex conversations and conducting interviews with professionalism

• Able to work under pressure independently, adapt as needed and meet deadlines

Skills and experience:

• Excellent creativity, written and verbal communications skills

• Proactive, self-motivated, well organized, thoughtful, and assertive

• Effective time management skills and the ability to work across organizational boundaries

• Excellent problem-solving skills

Preferred experience:

• 1 years+ experience in journalism, public/press relations,  would be advantageous

Remuneration:

• Successful candidate will be compensated in both USD and Ovis cryptocurrency - TRUTH Tokens

• $750 stipend in USD cash (20 hours a week for 3 months)

• For  additional hours - Ovis TRUTH Tokens cryptocurrency at equivalent $25 USD/ hour

• On successful completion we will give you a token bonus of  5000 Truth Tokens - the Ovis cryptocurrency
