PATTI LEE

Chief Communications Officer

Patti Lee joins Ovis as Chief Communications Officer. She is an Emmy award-winning journalist and communications professional with a passion for empowering communities by harnessing the power of stories.


As a news anchor and field reporter, she spent more than 10,000 hours covering major news events. She got her start at the MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour and has worked at broadcast news stations in cities including San Francisco, Honolulu, Dallas, Sacramento and Cleveland. Her stories have aired on CNN, CBS, FOX and she has received accolades from NATAS, Society of Professional Journalists and Press Club for her coverage of local politics, investigative stories and breaking news events.


In 2015, Lee launched Leeway Media and quickly became the go-to consultant for entrepreneurs and C-suite executives. At Leeway, she developed programs for professional organizations to address specific communications challenges, including how to utilize video and visuals to connect with Gen-Z and millennial audiences.

Lee makes a point of sharing her expertise with her community. She is a volunteer mentor with Pacific Community Ventures, and was on the Board of Managers at YMCA Bayview-Hunters Point and Marin Advocates for Children. As Chapter President for the Asian-American Journalists Association, she served a total of five terms in two different cities, creating community education programs and continuing education opportunities for mid-level journalists.


Patti Lee is a graduate of Columbia University in the City of New York.
